Geoquest India contributed to the protection of critical infrastructure along the Ganga River, where severe riverbank erosion was threatening land, structures, and regional stability.
Frequent flooding events were impacting nearby villages, road networks, and agricultural areas, while conventional erosion-control methods such as stone pitching and earthen embankments had proven insufficient against the river’s powerful currents. The client required a long-term, sustainable, and reliable solution to protect the bridge abutment from scouring and ongoing erosion.
To address these challenges, Geoquest India deployed TechRevetment, a fabric-formed concrete mattress solution. This dual-layer, concrete-grouted system forms a flexible yet highly durable protective barrier, effectively preventing erosion, stabilizing the embankments, and helping regulate river flow.
Despite the complexities related to underwater installation, tight construction schedules, and demanding monsoon conditions, the solution delivered exceptional structural stability, long-term durability, and enhanced environmental resilience.
