Freyssinet Geoquest Peru participated in the expansion of copper production in Peru. In this mine, it was necessary to relocate the primary crusher, which led to the construction of a new crushing unit and reinforced soil walls on the sides to provide access to the dumpers.
For this project, our team designed, supplied, and provided technical support for very tall Reinforced Earth walls using precast concrete TerraPlus panels. The Reinforced Earth walls was composed of precast panels with varying thicknesses of 14cm, 16cm, and 18cm, and incorporated primary reinforcement (GeoStrap) and secondary reinforcement (uniaxial geogrids).
The loads on the structure were determined by the traffic of Komatsu 830E, Komatsu 930E, and Caterpillar 797F mining trucks and seismic acceleration of 0.445g, making this wall a complex structure.
Key figures:
- Structure maximum height: 40 m
- Total surface area of reinforced soil structures: 5,270 sqm
- Construction period: May 2025 – December 2025
Congratulations to all teams for this outstanding work!
