Geoquest grows its ground technologies business in Latin America with the acquisition of Grupo TDM’s geosynthetics division

  • US$80 million in annual revenue and 220 employees.
  • Very strong growth in specialist construction business activities in Latin America.

Geoquest has signed an agreement to acquire the geosynthetics division of Grupo TDM, a leader in ground technologies for infrastructure projects in Latin America. The acquisition, which is subject to approval by the relevant authorities, is expected to be completed by end-2026.

TDM’s geosynthetics division is active in Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, employs 220 people, generated US$80 million in revenue in 2025, and has designed and supplied waterproofing, soil stabilisation, soil drainage and erosion protection solutions for more than 30 years. Its plants in Peru and Brazil notably produce waterproofing geomembranes and geocells (cellular confinement systems).

The acquisition will reinforce Geoquest’s operations in Latin America. Integrating TDM’s geosynthetics division’s industrial capacity and expertise will also expand Geoquest’s portfolio of solutions, particularly for the mining sector, one of the most dynamic markets in the region.

Geoquest invented the Reinforced Earth® technique, and designs and supplies geotechnical engineering structures and reinforced backfill solutions.
